On Friday, after a long week of work, I met up with Lanie, Emily, and Beth for a round of cocktails in honor of Beth's Birthday. She had an official celebration the weekend before, but Emily and I had both been unable to make it. I had grand plans of just having two drinks and then getting a good nights sleep before crossfit the next morning. I got seated on a stool facing the door and immediately ordered my new
wannabe Carrie Bradshaw signature drink, a Cosmopolitan. Beth asked me to switch places with her because it smelled like olives at her spot. Beth HATES olives. I happily obliged and was then sitting with my back to the front door. I now realize that the "olive juice smell" was all a ruse...
We were sipping our drinks when all of a sudden I heard someone yell "Bride on the floooooor".* I turned around to see Robley my BFF/College Roommate/Zeta Sister. She had flown in from Fort Worth to surprise me for Josh and my engagement party which was taking place the next day. Beth's "Birthday Party" had been a scheme to make sure that I went out on a Friday night so that Robley could surprise me. My friends know me well since now my ideal Friday Night is cooking dinner with Josh and hitting the hay early.
Needless to say, my intentions of a quiet evening ended right there. The cocktails kept flowing, the free shots from our awesome bartender started coming, and then my handsome fiance and more friends came to meet us! I had NO CLUE that Robley was coming to town and was 100% surprised. We had so much fun celebrating with all of our friends. However, this girl can no longer hold her liquor like she used to and I may or may not have had to send myself home before the celebration ended.

|Our Bartender was the best and kept giving us free shots. Hence why things got a bit rowdy!|
The next morning I was not feeling too hot, but I had to go into work for a few hours. After a Gatorade and a piece of toast, I felt back to my chipper-self. At noon, Josh and I picked up Robley, who had been riding a bike all around the monuments, and then three of us went to lunch. Pizza is my go-to hangover food, and I felt even better after eating. Before we knew it, we had to start getting ready for the Engagement Party.
My sweet/amazing/incredible friends went above and beyond in planning, organizing, and throwing Josh and my engagement party. Everything was executed meticulously and all of the guests (including Josh and myself) had a fabulous time. I am dedicating an entire post to the party on Wednesday, but I cannot say thank you enough to my ladies. They love me unconditionally and are there for me whenever I need them. I am so thankful to have them in my life! Tune in Wednesday for the recap :)

Beth, Lanie, Emily and Alycyn
Love them with all of my heart!
Sunday all of us were hurting after two nights of indulgence. We had a girls brunch at Cava were we refueled on lots of gluten and feta, and then it was time for Robley and Alycyn** to catch a plane. I was so sad to see Robley go, but I was so glad that she was able to come up for the weekend. It made the party and the weekend even more special.
The rest of Josh and my Sunday was spent recovering from the last 48 hours of fun. Like I said, we don't "hang" like we used to!
How was your weekend?
Mine could not have been better!
*Back when we lived in the Zeta hous, if you ever brought a boy up to the 2nd or 3rd floor you had to yell "Man on the Flooooor" before they came up. Boys were only allowed on the top floors when you were "moving."
**Alycyn has to be in Dallas for work for two weeks. Despite having a crazy schedule she flew home for the party. Talk about love! Thank you Al!!!
